Getting your business or organisation listed on our search engine optimised Business Directory is easy. The benefits of driving more customer enquiries from search engines such as Google and Yahoo are obvious .
As a local business you can get a free lifetime directory listing if you send us your details, with an optional business description of no more than 20 words, before the end of this year. Please note that we only provide free listings for businesses actually based within the valley. To avoid confusion, thats: Dundry, Felton, Burington, Blagdon, Ubley, The Harptrees, Hinton Blewett, Pensford, Stanton Drew and all the bits in between.
Other businesses that provide services from outside the Valley can gain promotion in the area with an upgraded listing.

To get free inclusion in the site, simply send an email to admin (at) chewvalleybusiness.co.uk with the following details:
Business Name
Your preferred Category (we may create a new one for you)
Telephone Number
Business Address
A contact email (this is not shown on the site but is used for the administration of your listing. We do not give/sell you email details to anyone)

You may also send us additional details to improve your listing. We advise that you take the time to include them with your listing :
Description. A very brief summary of your business or what service you provide. This appears next to your listing and at the top of your page. Around 15 - 20 words and no more.
Tags. Tags are 1 or 2 word keywords of phrases that relate to your business and are very important for people using searches. If you are a plumber, you might include “Boilers” or a photographer might use “Weddings”. Choose these carefully to really reflect your services using words that people might use to search. Choose up to 5 – we will check with you if we think that any of your tags might be ineffective.
Website. Most directories charge for the inclusion of a link to your website. We don’t.
Location. Such as Winford, Chew Magna etc - the village location of your business address . This may or may not be of importance to your customers or relevant to your type of business. The directory can use your location to help customers find businesses near them.
Contact Name. A personal contact name attached to your business improves your chances of a customer enquiry.

Your business receives great promotion with a free listing but there are a few reasons why you may wish to upgrade your directory entry.
Include an image. Studies have shown that web visitors are much more likely to click on an image, particularly if it reflects their search intentions. You can use a well chosen image to improve your chances of a customer contact. Please note - just to save time - your image must be square.
Expand your page content. With a free listing you get a sentence to sell your business. With an upgraded listing you can tell prospective customers more about your services and add links to specific pages on your website. You could choose to create mini sections on your page about different services you offer. It’s entirely up to you.
If you don’t have a website. We see an important part of the Chew Valley Business Directory as the opportunity for a mini-website for small businesses that don’t have an online presence.
